Scrapbook Influences

Friedrich had a collection of images that he had cut out from newspapers and magazines.  These give an insight into what interested him and they likely influenced his creative work.  Please click the images to the right to see an animated slideshow of part of his 'scrapbook'.

Friedrich was a great observer and collected a mine of images first hand by observing the world about him; particularly people's faces. However, his art often seemed to be influenced by his passed memories.
